Every year, the same ritual:

Last-minute meetings in the staff room.

Permission slips going back and forth in folders.

Endless email threads with families.

Then the trip arrives.

Students return with photos and stories they share for days.

It went well.

A pity that those lovely foreign students so quickly become just another memory in the phone gallery.

Because they could be much more.

They could be people to practise the language with all year round.

They could be the real reason to use what has been learnt beyond the textbook.

Yet it often feels as though, if no one boards a plane, there is no exchange.

It does not have to be that way.

I run guided online group exchanges between students from schools in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Spain.

Before and after the stay abroad.

Or instead of the stay abroad.

And teachers do not have to prepare a thing.

I speak with each student to check their level, create the groups, provide age-appropriate materials, design the sessions and lead them.

If you would like your students to have regular access to native peers to practise with throughout the year, subscribe to this mailing list for teachers of Spanish or English and school leaders from the United Kingdom, Ireland or Spain.

You will receive:

- A video tour of the virtual rooms where everything takes place.

- The full content outline of the exchanges.

- Information about special conditions for schools subscribed to this list

A one-week stay abroad can be an experience, but a well-nurtured connection can transform an entire academic year, and a student for life.

Unsubscribing is just as easy as subscribing.
